The European Central Bank Pefers Not To Raise Interest Rates In 2022

There seems to be a slight shift in the Eurozone’s perception of the outlook for inflation. Recall that at the meeting on interest rates last Thursday (16th), the European Central Bank still prefers not to raise interest rates in 2022. But the day after the incident, the Bundesbank and the Bank of Portugal unanimously expressed their concerns about inflation last Friday, saying that they noticed the upward trend of wages in the region and were worried that it would push up inflation. However, the Bank of France disagrees, believing that inflation is only temporary. It seems that Europe is still divided on the issue of facing inflation. The enthusiasm for tightening monetary policy is far less than that of the Federal Reserve.
